Prayer Update for May

Although I am writing about May, I want to start with a prayer request.  We are holding our VBS in the village of Shila from Tuesday to Friday.  We will be starting at 2 PM (which is 2 AM EST).  Please pray that the Lord will bless this outreach and that we will have a lot of new contacts with kids in the village.  

May was a very good and busy month.  We have 2 men from Ukraine here helping with the village ministry in Shila.  They have been a great blessing to the ministry there (including digging a grey-water septic made out of old tractor tires!)  We have been holding Bible institute classes on Saturdays in Krasnoyarsk, and the people have really loved it.

One other May blessing was getting to go back for a year-end visit to the public school where I taught for 12 years.  They have a day at the end of the year for guests, so I could freely go for a visit without anyone questioning it.  I was able to see the director and to thank her for all the years she allowed me to be there.  She was very grateful and was also sad that I was not able to continue teaching. 

There have been a lot of visitors to the church and one blessing was the salvation of a young lady whose mother and brother are members.   She has a twin sister who has also started visiting.  Please pray for Valentina’s salvation.  We added a new family to the church membership in May and had one man restored to fellowship. 

We planted about a half an acre of potatoes, carrots, squash and cucumbers last week!  We pray that the seed planted will bring forth a great harvest in due time.  The same is true of the Gospel that we have the privilege of planting!  Thank you for your prayers for Russia!
