Dear Friends,
Grace be multiplied to you and peace from God and our Saviour, Jesus Christ! Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world. (James 1:27)
We praise the Lord for the many hours each day He gives us to be on the air proclaiming the Name of Jesus Christ, the mission revealed in His name – that of saving His people from their sins, and pressing the claims of Christ upon the life each listener. Truly, we are not our own, but His! Thank you very much for your part in this vital work of God here in the Windward Islands!
The Murphys asked that we pray for God's will in the sale of their home to a Christian couple. This will enable them to be “on the road” full time and (humanely speaking) make it possible for them to come that much sooner. Pray that if Satan is somehow hindering their coming that God will destroy the enemy's work so that God's work can go forward. Pray for the Steels as well as they make definite plans to be here by February of 2008 and that their support will be provided by God in His wonderful way.
The Littles continue the work on their home in Mt. Pleasant. They have been working hard to “break stone” and gather other materials to pour the floor. It would be wonderful if they could be in their house by the end of the year. Pray for God's provision for both materials and labour. Pray for the Louises as they have been having some (minor) health struggles. “Mama C” (Arlene Cornelius) is doing well and keeping very busy – thank you for praying for her. “It is well” with the rest of us, by God's grace.
The Lord called some long-time listeners from Trinidad to “come over and help us!” Andrew and Lynda Ramdhanie are here for about 9 months. Sister Lynda is a retired teacher and is teaching at Harbour Light Christian Primary School. Brother Andrew is a retired police officer. He is helping with various maintenance needs. Praise the Lord for their desire to serve the Lord in their retirement years!
I just received a letter from a new listener who said “Many of the things that I have learned, I have never heard or been taught otherwise as most "teaching" and "preaching" nowadays always seems to tend towards what you can get from God and what you should give [in tithes and offerings]...” “How is it that I can be assured of my faith...” “You guys use mostly hymns on the station, why is that? Is there a problem with other gospel genres like pop, reggae, calypso etc? In my mind I can't think of any reason God would be displeased with it... I am a very open minded person and would very much appreciate information on this... and If possible scripture references that would help me to understand a position on this as I am a musician but foremost a Christian and would prefer not to be in error.”
I am excited about answering him mainly because of his statement “...but foremost a Christian...” Oh how we need Christians who are “foremost a Christian!” Those who are willing, ready, and eager to think God's thoughts instead of their own - hating even to be spotted (soiled) by the world. Praise the Lord and keep...
Spreading the WORD!
